On 9th April 2008, Morgan Contract Furniture successfully achieved BS8555 level 5 accreditation for Environmental Management Systems and is one of the earliest adopters of this recent British Standard.
This latest success is further recognition of the company’s lean and green approach to manufacturing with effective measures to minimise environmental impact at every stage of the process including materials sourcing, design, manufacturing, recycling of waste, packaging and final delivery to the customer.
Rodney McMahon, Managing Director of Morgan Contract Furniture, said “Our passion for lean and green at Morgan delivers universal rewards for ourselves and our customers. Many efficiencies we have implemented have resulted in reduction in waste, thereby saving us money, and at the same time improved service and product quality to the customer.
Possessing a green bill of health is also important to customers, who nowadays, are not only judged on their own eco-credentials but also those of their suppliers. A critical factor in our recent success in winning the British Airways contract to supply seating for their new Terminal 5 First and Business Class Lounges at Heathrow was due to their assessment team judging our environmental credentials as being significantly better than other UK manufacturers.”
