Morgan Furniture, the design-led UK manufacturer of contract furniture, will unveil two new exclusive collections at this year’s Sleep09 event at the Business Design Centre in Islington on 3rd – 4th November. (Stand M23C)
Renowned for their original designs, the studio at Morgan, headed by Design Director Katerina Zachariades, has drawn on the company’s core strengths to produce the City Collection – a range of chairs that meets every possible need for a contract furniture product and is a creative response to the current economic climate. The collection is contemporary and stylish so delivers when it comes to city-chic looks, but is also quick to make and offers outstanding value. This is made possible thanks to investment in high-tech machinery and Morgan’s industry leading standards when it comes to ecological and lean production methods.
The City Collection consists of a contemporary lounge chair with a slim, fitted upholstery detail and a comfortable deep seat. There is also a dining / occasional chair shown here with a chrome swivel base. The integrated arms with straight high sides add to the contemporary design while the gently tilting line invites the user to sit back and relax. The result is an elegant, versatile product in two sizes that will work in many contract environments.
A second original design will also be revealed at the exhibition - The Hampton Collection. This new sofa range with classic looks will be available to see and to sit on at Stand M23C.
Morgan design and develop all their products in a low energy consuming factory, using materials from sustainable sources. The company is accredited by FISP (Furniture Industry Sustainability Programme) and were among the first in the industry to achieve the BS8555 standard which is being converted to ISO14001 in November 2009. Morgan also form part of a lean and environmental improvement “think tank” with other British manufacturers.
Morgan Furniture is proud that all their products bear the hallmark ‘Made in the UK’ and are produced by highly skilled craftsmen many of which are trained in-house through the company’s apprenticeship programme.
