FX Drawing Exhibition
On September the 22nd we were proud to host the FX drawing competition private view at our Clerkenwell showroom. A big thank-you to Theresa Dowling for giving us the opportunity to host the private view; we had a brilliant evening chatting to some of the exhibitors, including Dezaak Daan who came all the way from Holland.
FX ran the competition with no rules, and so included isometric, 2 and 3 point perspective, descriptive scribbles and indeed fine art.
The variety of sketches and their subject matter was particularly exciting; from London landmarks to intricate portraits, it was clear to see that this competition was an enjoyable experience for all of the architects and designers involved.
The judges had a tough decision when choosing their finalists; our design director, Katerina chose the industrial drawing by Gary Schuberth from The Opus Group.
“Elles Middelijam’s intricate line drawing of a street was the favourite of Natasha Bonugli at BDG Architecture and design.”
“Trevor Flynn from Drawing at Work chose Chris Eckersley who is a furniture designer; his sketches and technical drawings were of the Piazza Chapel.”
“Will Jones from Ecophon chose the image that has graced the front cover of FX magazine, which was drawn by Luke Hawker and also chose David Price’s beautiful, cascading landscape.”
We’ve had the pleasure of these sketches adorning our walls for the last two weeks, but sadly the exhibition has come to an end today. If you haven’t already seen the full write up about the exhibition, you can find it in FX magazine’s September issue.
