Mark McClure ‘Surface’
A unique geometric installation by British artist Mark McClure, commissioned by Morgan. Entitled ‘Surface’, and in keeping with our theme ‘Underlying Geometry’ for Clerkenwell Design Week. During which we will be stripping back the colour and focusing on form and structure.
This week, British artist Mark McClure has taken up residency in our Clerkenwell Showroom, transforming it into a neutral geometric haven. Mark’s unique installation has been commissioned to span across our main double height wall, creating a dynamic painted and relief piece constructed from timber and board, even incorporating offcuts and waste material from our workshops.
Mark McClure inhabits an exciting space between the worlds of fine art and visual design – creating studio works, sculpture and murals alongside bespoke surfaces – all with a strong, geometric style. Mark has exhibited widely in the UK and Internationally and has undertaken a number of Public Art commissions and Artist residencies abroad.

Mark has exhibited widely in the UK and Internationally and has undertaken a number of Public Art commissions and Artist residencies abroad.Trained as a graphic designer, Mark has worked in design and digital interactive design for a number of years – experience which is still evident in his output and aesthetic. Often working with found and reclaimed materials – Mark’s current works explore themes of structure, public space and our interaction with the built environment.
We believe that Britain is at the forefront of the art and design movement and so celebrate this talent by supporting artists through a series of exhibitions at our showroom, featuring British artists we admire.
