London Design Festival
Morgan at LDF 2022
We were delighted to host at our showroom for LDF 2022, thank you to everyone who joined us. In case you missed it, here is an insight into what we got up to.
Marking our second collaboration with industrial designer Tim Rundle following the Rakino collection in 2019, LDF saw us launch Bilbao, a contemporary tub chair offering a generous and inviting aesthetic in a relatively small footprint.
Tim Rundle Studio specialises in industrial design across furniture, lighting design, interiors, installations, and strategic consultancy. Originally from New Zealand, his London based studio collaborates with leading interior product brands globally and is known for an aesthetically simple yet technically sophisticated body of work.
Bilbao is characterised by soft curvaceous surfaces, delineated by a clear and defined stitch line running around the generous sitting space. Through its luxurious soft forms, Bilbao evokes a retreat-like atmosphere in commercial spaces, including hospitality, cruise and workplaces.
Following the launch of Bilbao, we are thrilled to give you all the chance to win the brand-new tub chair – and entering is simple!
Running until the 16th of November 2022, further details can be found here.
Morgan London kicked off our 30th-anniversary celebrations by hosting a ‘Celebration of Design Excellence’ through a series of Happy Hours admiring the latest products and installations.
Currently on display; ‘Offcuts’, an art installation by British artist Olly Fathers plus lighting by Bert Frank.
As LDF celebrated its 20th anniversary, Morgan Studio set out to experience everything the London Design Festival had to offer. The team were really inspired by the displays and exhibitions exploring topics surrounding craftsmanship and materials.
“Our LDF event highlight this year has been the ‘One Tree Project’, which aligns closely to Morgan’s values of craftsmanship, good design and sustainability. The project was devised as a creative exercise to make use of an unhealthy Ash tree that had to be cut down. Chosen for their sustainable approach and passion for making, a group of designers and artists created a series of one-off objects to give a new life to the felled tree.” – Morgan Studio
Our Senior Account Director Simon also explored the festival after being invited to join Ultrafabrics on their Design Day Out. The team visited Yinka Ilori and ASMR exhibitions at the Design Museum, the life-sized Sony Design Into Sight installation, and finished off with an immersive dining experience at Pantechnicon.
Thank you again to everyone that came to visit us this year. If you were unable to make the event, our Clerkenwell showroom is always open for visitors. Stop by anytime to meet the team and view our latest collections and installations.
