Celebrating 30 Years of Design Excellence
A Look Back at Morgan's Memorable Moments & Projects
As Morgan celebrates 30 years of design excellence, we look back at some of the most memorable moments that have shaped the company. Our journey has been marked by a commitment to quality, passion for design, and the dedication of our talented team.
In 1997 we exhibited at 100% Design, one of the most significant moments in the history of the company and a major turning point for us as a design-led business. It not only provided us with a platform to showcase our innovative designs and connect with new customers and industry professionals, but it also helped us to gain recognition within the industry.
Another defining moment came in 1998, when we manufactured all 700 Readers’ Chairs for the New British Library. This project, designed by Ron Carter OBE and completed in 1998, was a big undertaking and it solidified our reputation as a reputable brand within the design industry. We have continued to supply iconic British brands such as British Airways and Wimbledon Tennis Association.
In 2005, we established Morgan Studio, a talented group of in-house designers, working on bringing new designs to life and pushing the boundaries of innovation. Following this, in 2012 we attained our first Design Guild Mark for the City and Miami collections, further underpinning and celebrating our commitment to design excellence.
Creating a hub for design and inspiration, in 2014 we opened our London showroom located in the heart of Clerkenwell. Morgan London was born from a desire to celebrate British design. With the intention to champion the originality and inspirational power of high-end creativity and art, we built a physical space to showcase our furniture amongst unique collaborations. Over the years we have collaborated with leading British artists, commissioning them to make an installation or a painting in our Clerkenwell showroom. These include Remi Rough, David Shillinglaw, Mark McClure, Expanded Eye, Charlie Oscar Patterson and our latest artist Olly Fathers.
We have also explored new technologies and developed a 3D-printed series of chairs and tables with the Architect/designer Mehran Gharleghi, of Studio Integrate – Discover the Rio collection today.
Our collaborations with external designers have continued and now include the Lugano collection by Rock Galpin and Rakino and Bilbao by Tim Rundle.
