Morgan at CDW 2018

Clerkenwell Design Week 2018 has flown by, and what a week it was. With the sun out in full force, we were blown away by the amount of you who came to visit us across the three days. However, for those who missed us, here is a little run down of what we got up to.

During the lead up to CDW, we transformed our showroom with a focus on the theme ‘The Art of Collaboration’. The first element to be transformed was our main double height showroom wall; with a commissioned art installation by British artist duo Expanded Eye. Entitled ‘Transcend’, it is their largest installation to date. The piece encompasses two surrealist figures that appear to be floating. Made up of reclaimed wood, including some identifiable pieces of Morgan furniture, as well as intricate hand painted areas.

On the Tuesday afternoon, we invited Stewart Dodd of Satellite Architects, Mehran Gharleghi of studio INTEGRATE and designer Michael Angove, for a panel discussion on the topic ‘The Art of Collaboration’. The discussion included insight from each individual’s angle from dance to design, as to both the benefits and potential issues of collaboration.

The discussion lead on to our evening launch party with Innermost, in celebration of our new products. With Ginnermost gin, canapés and live Jazz by students from the Royal College of Music, the night was a huge success.

Complementing Expanded Eye’s unique art installation, was our striking installation of twelve Kepler pendant lights across the front of our showroom, by Innermost. A green wall made up of preserved moss and bark by Innerspace and an installation of fourteen BeoSound Shape speakers in a bespoke layout and colour way, by Bang & Olufsen.

Alongside our numerous collaborations, we also launched a number of new additions to our collections, including but not limited to: our new low back and high back Pimlico sofas, power integration within our Valencia modular seating and the new Chevy dining chair, which was upholstered in a unique Jungle printed Bute fabric, designed by Bespoke Atelier. We also had three of our Modena stools on display, upholstered in Andrew Muirhead leather with unique prints designed by Michael Angove.

Finally, we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our friends and guest that both collaborated with us and visited us this year. A special thanks goes to Expanded Eye, Innermost, Bang & Olufsen, Innerspace, and of course our panel of speakers: Stewart Dodd, Mehran Gharleghi and Michael Angove.

Until next year CDW. In the mean time, do stop by our showroom to view our recent collaborations. Our next event will be during London Festival of Architecture, and then of course London Design Festival.
