London based David Shillinglaw is one of our favourite young British artists. He’s a prolific, power house of colourful creativity and his images, energy and commitment are inspiring. We’re delighted to be showcasing his work and hosting his ‘Gonzo Design workshop’, on the 20th of May between 12pm and 5pm at our showroom at 1 Dallington Street, in celebration of Clerkenwell Design Week 2015.
His installation, entitled Black Box Kaleidoscope, is a study of the love triangle between nature, man and technology and was greeted with great enthusiasm at the private view on 6th May. David’s work is about the human condition and manages to remain uplifting even when referencing the struggles and darker side of life.

An interview with British artist David Shillinglaw.
Sharing our beautiful showroom with such unique talent is a joy and we hope that sharing our love of art with our showroom visitors enriches their experience and gives them even more food for thought. We believe that bringing artists and designers together, forging connections and stimulating discussion will ultimately lead to greater creativity for us all. As furniture designers we are constantly striving for the perfect balance of form and function. For an artist freedom of thought is imperitive. We didn’t want to in any way dictate how David responded to our showroom’s ambience and expanse of white walls and so it was exciting to witness the unrestrained expression of ideas that he has unleashed.
Do not miss this unique opportunity to meet David Shillinglaw, listen to his inspiring stories and get creative at his workshop!
