Morgan at CDW: Embracing Sustainability, Contrast, and Style
We were thrilled to once again open the doors to our London showroom for Clerkenwell Design Week 2023. Thank you to everyone who joined us and for those who missed out, here is a glimpse into some of the highlights.
This year saw us unveil the brand-new Aran collection designed by Morgan Studio and three new additions to our popular Bilbao collection designed by Tim Rundle.
The Aran collection, developed in collaboration with British textile designer and manufacturer Camira, showcases a lounge chair that redefines comfort and mass through minimal material. Inspired by the knitting heritage of the Aran Islands, this chair features expertly knitted sleeves held in tension over a supporting timber frame, creating an exquisite contrast of textures. Sustainability was at the forefront of the design process, with each element of the chair designed for easy disassembly and made from renewable and recyclable materials. Discover the making of Aran by Morgan Studio.
The popular Bilbao collection introduces three new additions, including two elegant sofas and a lounge chair with a timber base. Bilbao was designed to combine soft, organic surfaces with crisp, sharp edges. These new pieces offer flexibility and style, ensuring they seamlessly integrate into any space.
During Clerkenwell Design Week, Morgan hosted a private viewing of ‘Verso,’ a captivating art installation by British artist Corin Kennington complemented by a lighting display by Bert Frank. Additionally, guests had the opportunity to participate in an arm knitting workshop, immersing themselves in the tradition that inspired the Aran lounge chair.
Visitors experienced firsthand the captivating blend of texture, comfort, and style embodied by both the Aran and Bilbao collections. To view the new collections, book an appointment with our design-led sales team or drop by our Clerkenwell showroom.
