We were delighted to be back hosting events at our showroom for CDW 2022, thank you to everyone that joined us. In case you missed it, here is an insight into what we got up to.
This year our series of events and installations were based around the theme of Renew and included a complete showroom transformation. An exploration of how adaptation can be a driving force for a more creative, and resilient world.
Spanning across our showroom wall is a unique art installation ‘Offcuts’ by British artist Olly Fathers. His work explores the visual language between simple forms and materials, working shapes into playful harmonies with one another to create this tranquil balance.
The exhibition presents a large-scale installation made up of six pieces, alongside a selection of recent artworks. Each cut by hand, ‘Offcuts’ is a series of 6 large wood veneers based around the theme of Reuse. The series celebrates this process of constant rotation and encourages the viewer to look closer at these previously disregarded forms.
Olly’s installation will be running throughout the summer, so be sure to stop by and admire it.
Our lighting display featured award-winning lighting company, Berk Frank; Designed and made exclusively in the UK, inspired by a desire for beautiful objects and a passion for lifestyle-enhancing design.
Our events kicked off Tuesday evening with our Breathe Consciously Workshop by Rebecca Dennis, Founder of Breathing Tree, with over 20 years of experience.
Seeking ways to help us feel more grounded, Rebecca’s workshop bought balance and awareness into the body, helping us to become present by giving our minds a moment of still. The workshop taught us the power of breath for our health and well-being. Using simple exercises in everyday life to leave us feeling energised, focused, and balanced.
After a moment of stillness, the energy shifted as we began welcoming guests for the Private View of ‘Offcuts’, alongside live jazz music and drinks, as we celebrated the return of CDW After a two-year gap, drinks were flowing, and live Jazz and conversation filled the showroom.
Morgan products are made to last, with longevity considered at every stage of our design and manufacturing process. Reupholstery can often prove to be a cost-effective solution, and sustainability is often the main motivation to refresh rather than replace. Our immersive exhibition, ‘Renew’ demonstrates the sustainable approach taken within our reupholstery process following the journey of four of our Pastille dining chairs from our customer at AELTC, Wimbledon.
If you didn’t manage to drop by during CDW, the exhibition will continue to run into summer, so be sure to stop by and experience the installation first-hand.
We also unveiled our new Porto barstools, combining Porto’s crisp upholstery with a generous seat, a slimline metal underframe and an optional leather handle to the outside back. Also launched was the latest addition to the Oslo collection, a Scandinavian inspired, slender dining chair featuring a cane panel detail to the inside back, emphasising the lightness of the frame.
In partnership with On Office, Our Sales Director Daphne McMahon joined the panel at Ultrafabrics as they discussed the importance of a considered approach to specifying materials, examining factors from sustainability to personal values.
Thank you again to everyone that came to visit us this year, and to everyone involved in making it happen.
