We are proud to announce the expansion of the Bilbao collection with two new sofas and a lounge chair. Designed by Tim Rundle, the latest additions will be shown at the upcoming Clerkenwell Design Week, taking place from 23rd to 25th May.
Inspired by the contrasting textures of soft, organic surfaces and crisp, sharp edges, the Bilbao collection was first launched at the London Design Festival last year. It has since become a popular choice for designers across all sectors. The two-seater and three-seater sofas explore this contrast further, with the latter featuring a distinctive kidney bean shape. Like the original lounge chair, the sofas are fully upholstered and planted firmly on the ground.
Tim Rundle comments, “We’re seeing an increased preference for softness in hospitality spaces. The Bilbao collection, with its full volumes and primarily upholstered surfaces, will help designers bring warmth to those environments, from the social spaces of hotel lobbies and lounges to the privacy of the bedrooms.”
The new lounge chair in the collection offers a different aesthetic, combining sensuous upholstery and striking timber detail. The base of the chair reinforces the fluidity of the collection’s other pieces, giving the appearance of being carved from a single block of wood, with all elements blending into one another.
Our Design Director Erin Johnson says, “Bilbao was well received after launching last year and we’ve since seen it widely specified across all sectors. These new additions offer considerably more options and flexibility to meet clients’ aesthetic and spatial requirements.”
